wife loves it pretty easy to install

My wife always wanted one so I pulled the trigger and ordered one for Christmas. First things first - you need an electrical plug under the sink and you need a hole in the countertop (yup). We already had a dishwasher switch under the sink so the electrician added GFCI and the guy who originally installed the countertops for us drilled the hole. The plumber charged me $325 to install it, so I decided to pack up and try to install it myself. I did a great job (!) but it took me about 4-5 hours.1. Pass hoses through the hole - EASY2. Tightening the unit at the counter is EASY, but if you don't want to be constantly pacing to make sure the faucet is at the desired angle, it's easier to have someone do the positioning while you tighten.3. Hanging a heater is VERY EASY - I'm 6ft 5 inches tall so I was cramped under the sink. The first few holes I drilled were too low (my calculation was off by an inch) so I had to redrill and also buy new screws when I overdid it a bit and sanded one of them. Always use a spirit level to keep the screws straight and once you hang it up tighten the screws and LEVEL again. Slightly down slope at the front so the level should be near the back of the unit 4. Plumbing - NOT EASY BUT DOABLE - Now I understand why people call plumbers small, it's hard to tell what exactly they are from ask you. I went to Home Depot thinking I knew what to buy and was blown away by all the options. Luckily one of the employees was a genius plumber and I knew what to buy, but to do it according to the instructions (a separate valve for the heater) I had to buy copper pipe. s I needed a few inches of pipe. The tee is easy enough, but then you need to connect the device to the tee and make sure it is tight so there are no leaks. After doing this and seeing some leaks, I tightened, saw more leaks, tightened and tightened again. EVERYTHING IS READY! All in all I'm very proud to have done this job myself as I saved $300 on the install and used the knowledge of YouTube and Home Depot partners to assist in the process. The water is hot, it looks nice on the counter, yes we are all happy here.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad but...
