Review on 🎧 Sena R1 / R1 EVO Intelligent Communication Helmet by Michael Shim

We use with our e-bikes, we tried different ways of communicating systems. screaming, overhead bluetooth (headsets interfering with helmets) and required phone connection and wind issues, blue tooth in-ear headphones requiring phone connection (taped to foam helped) when there were wind issues, unassisted bluetooth walkie-talkies, Hands-free calling with our Bluetooth headphones (couldn't start). Also tried a blue tooth motorcycle helmet and added that it mounts on the outside of the helmet but there is no room for a microphone or speakers to attach to an open face bike helmet. We bought two of these, a blue R1 standard medium and a large R-1 (non standard) black. Quiet tone on black, but good tone on blue. Bought another pair to find out which was bad, the black R-1 or the blue R-1 Standard. Two black R-1 (custom) helmets worked great together, and two standard blue R-1s worked great together, but no R-1 (custom) black with a standard blue R-1. Kept the two black helmets because the blue size L was out of stock (and the black one fit) and returned the two blue ones. Therefore, while R-1 Standard and R-1 (Non-Standard) work together, they are not fully compatible. They are great, we used them on our first 50 mile bike ride last week and they worked all day. Line of sight before it disappears from view and shorter around obstacles. It's like they're right next to you, only better their ears aren't obstructed for full situational awareness. Get a visor, it helps keep the sun out and I think it helps get your voice out. Excellent sound pickup without wind noise. Can answer calls with the touch of a button and automatically switch to a headset conversation when you hang up. Haven't tried all the features like radio or band. I like this!
