This is my first and only security camera system.After spending days researching products, I finally landed on Firstrend's 1080p 8 channel dvr, 4 camera system.First, the quality of the materials. I have been astounded at how solid the build of the cameras is. I live in Denver Colorado and have cold, snowy winters, high winds, and hot sun. I was afraid buying a $300 camera system wouldnt work because of the elements. But these Cameras changed my mind. Sturdy. Solid. Weather resistant and im extremely happy with them.Next, install. The cameras were a BREEZE for me to install. 3 screws each and a little time pointing/adjusting them. I set the DVR and a small monitor up at each camera install sight so I could see the picture and was really impressed with how simple it was to adjust, tighten, and install the camera. I got power cord extenders with my order so that I had 10+feet of wire for each camera and was able to route the wires through my siding in SECONDS. It was just so.easy. Then I turned everything on and.it just worked. All cameras connected automatically once the DVR booted up. I throught out my install locations so I'd have line of sight to the DVR so I didnt have any wifi signal issues. It just literally.worked. Immediately. Right out of box. I even moved it all around while i installed the cameras and it just always worked.The DVR was easy to configure too. I quickly figured out how to navigate the system, made adjustments to motion detect sensitivity AND area configurations. I figured out how to load the APP Danale and again.it just.immediately connected and worked with almost no effort. It took a week of playing with the finer adjustments before I was happy with things like push notifications and motion detection. The night vision is really good too. I have a camera in my garage which is dark most of the time, and I can read the brand name of the tools on a shelf in the room its that good.The things I dont like:The cameras refresh isnt perfect, often images are blury and/or pixelated when there's movement. The app isnt my favorite, but it gets the job done. When registering for APP, they send you a email to verify your account that comes with a 30 minute timer. The email doesnt come reliably quickly, so i will hit the "send me a code" button and then it takes 45 min for the email to arrive but I often will have gotten bored and moved on and forget about it. Then when I remember, the code is invalid and I gotta do it again. Took me a week to get past that, lol. I have a DVR that can take up to 8 cameras and only have 4, I have inquired about buying more cameras (because I love the system!) but they dont have them available right now:( Makes me nervous if I will ever actually be able to buy the other 4 cameras my system can support.Overall its a good system that seems adequate and simple. It has a few minor frustrations, but overall its deserves 4/5 stars.
