With a cutting surface of approximately 4 1/4 inches, preparing food is a breeze! My wife and I had a mandolin that you can see in the video and we used it quite a bit, but I didn't have legs, it had to be held over the container and used. This mandolin also cuts julienne (thick and thin). It also has about eight different slice thicknesses. A brush that is very easy to clean the device. It comes with a food holder that makes it very safe to use. Hope that was helpful
