A French boot is a good way to hang a picture, mirror or other heavy object. The lower part is firmly attached to the wall, while the upper part is firmly attached to the picture and slipped over the wall part. If part of the wall is flat, the image will also be flat. No messing around with the wire sliding in the hanger clamp. If it's a really heavy item (think a large framed mirror) the top can separate from the sides and bottom, leaving the top of the frame securely against the wall and the bottom, sides and glass rest on the ground. One way to solve this problem is to use two D-rings on each side and run the wire through the frame from top to bottom. The result is a securely attached frame that can carry a lot of weight. This particular kit includes a small plane and lightweight mounting hardware. The three wall screws are deep-threaded WallDog screws designed to be screwed directly into drywall. If you need to maximize holding capacity, you will need to drive a screw into the stud and use a different expansion anchor (not included). I also recommend buying a longer screw for the one that will fit in the rack. After going through the drywall there is just over 1/2 inch left to go into the rack. than enough. We recommend!
