PLUG AND PLAY, OTHER RATINGS ARE INCORRECT
I plugged it in, immediately on Windows 10 it showed up and detected other networks, I installed mine in front of my desktop to maximize the signal (I live in a crowded house, so bandwidth is an issue). The signal is strong, the ping is better than when I used my laptop's ethernet to instantly connect to its Wi-Fi, which is great. It does NOT swivel side to side, but has a vertical swivel that allows you to point it up or out. Really solid feeling, I play it for 30 seconds after installing it and turning off my lagging ethernet.
