My wife liked the silicone scraper so much that she bought a second one after the first one broke. Then the second one broke (about a year later). She used it multiple times both times, though the second blade didn't last as long as the first. Both times the blade broke at the top where it attaches to the blender. I think because it's "professional" and intended for catering use, it should stand up to weekly use in icing and cake batter by home cooks. We don't use it for testing or even very intensive testing, so maybe the quality of the blade is the issue? We love the design, we haven't found another one that has a scraper like this on both sides. Unfortunately, we're not interested in replacing them every year, so we're trying a different brand.
