Panasonic offer

I bought this for the Panasonic Viera which uses active IR shutter technology. They will not work with 2012 and newer Panasonic models that use Bluetooth instead of IR. I can't say exactly why Panasonic changed, but I do remember an issue with Panasonic glasses related to IR. If you turn your head too far to the side, they lose contact and turn off until you look back. Of course, you're not looking directly at the screen while doing this, but it's annoying that you might have this problem if you turn your head for a moment. I mention this because these PlayStation glasses don't have that problem. I can turn my head 90 degrees to either side and they won't turn off. I also tried enabling 3D through the TV. The remote was pointed over my shoulder so I was literally looking at the wall opposite the TV. However, the glasses were still on when 3D was enabled. They also have a delay of about 10 seconds when turning off 3D. So if you look away for a moment, don't turn off 3D. The downside is that if you turn off 3D on your TV, things will look weird for about 10 seconds, but you can still take off your glasses, of course. Overall, they compare well to the Panasonic TY-EW3D3MU 3D active shutter glasses. but I would have to give Panasonic the edge for convenience. The Panasonic's nose is less rigid, although the Sony's nose is adjustable and doesn't feel uncomfortable. As for the optics, I'll have to examine them more closely to see if I can tell the difference. I've tried them in every light but so far they work just as well. Both work equally well with glasses. Compared to the old Panasonic TY-EW3D10U 3D Active Shutter Glasses, these PlayStation glasses win without a doubt. The Panasonic model works but is less comfortable and no better. If you have an older model there's no reason to throw them away, but you might consider these PlayStation glasses if you can get them for a good price and keep the others as spares for guests. UPDATE: I noticed that these goggles, when used in a brightly lit room with sunlight coming through the windows, they tend to get out of sync and behave as if they were off. Panasonic TY-EW3D3MU does NOT have this problem. This particular environment is not suitable for watching TV,
