Overpriced and poor design. A manual is useless and necessary accessories are omitted. Installation was a frustrating experience. Being an engineer myself I thought I had all the parts I needed but I found out I was wrong. I even called tech support to explain and complain. They were able to find out why I was having problems. Here's what you need to know: 1. One port is slightly larger than the other as this unit was only manufactured to fit a non-flexible 4 inch duct. However, the box is symmetrical and not a single port is labeled. 3.85 inches in diameter. No marks, so pay attention to this point, after removing the front/inner filter, the box is easy to turn over.2. As I pointed this out to tech support and they agree but have no explanation WHY - the lint filter mounted at the same angle as the handle on the front of the unit DOES NOT TOUCH THE BACK OF THE BOX. Thus, there is an air gap of about 1/4 inch to 3/8 inch between the inside edge of the lint filter and the back of the box. This results in an absolutely pointless FOOT CIRCULATION. After all, it's a lint collector. Tech Support knows customers are frustrated by this and solves the problem with Styrofoam window insulation, which costs $2.50 per roll.3. Technical support also knows that the front of the box is breathable. Again, you should use foam window sealing tape, such as B. MD Small Gap Foam Window Seal or a similar product. What isn't clear until you get your hands on it is that you pull the handle and the entire front (white) surface of the box comes out and the filter is attached perpendicular to the face. So if the face isn't tight, it's leaking. And that means it's letting hot air into your space, and for many that means it's letting RADON GAS into your space. Not a lot, but in some areas we have radon in groundwater, and when you're drying your clothes you want the hot, humid air, which can contain radon, to be vented outside rather than into your garage, utility room, or apartment seep . Long story short, we spent 3 hours modifying (isolating), installing and engineering it to get it working. It's now installed and working, catching the lint. But for the price, this product should include: * 2 - 4" screw clamps * 2 - 4" grommet adapters (almost impossible to install without these!) * 4 mounting screws * a roll of self-adhesive foam tape and instructions on how to attach it to the lint filter and attaches to the door - EVEN BETTER, factory install it in China and seal the box BEFORE you sell it! * More detailed instructions. Nowhere in the instructions are there the problems described above, nor is there any information that one port is narrower than the other and should be used as INPUT (they look the same until you measure them, but the diameters are different). The instructions apply only to the 4" fixed duct installation with built-in fan and not to other applications. Why not? However, this is an EXTREMELY COMMON USE. The manufacturer needs to redesign this product to make it easier to use and more complete. Attention buyers. You will need a lot of extra bits and pieces to make this job.
