I set the settings on very low to start and after a few days my medium sized labradoodle went from barking and squeaking to barking with great anxiety only when people came to the door. We thought about getting rid of her and now she is an almost perfect dog. I cannot thank this product enough for reducing anxiety in our dog and half the family. The instructions are a bit unclear, but after reading them a few times and testing them myself, it became clearer. The difference between sensitivity and shock level is confusing until you read it again. I'm sure the build quality will last. It feels solid in the midrange and looks reasonably well thought out and solid. For a modest price I am very satisfied. Some reviewers have called the shock level insanely high, but I think it's a combination of over-sensitivity and a ignorance that high shock voltage doesn't mean high current. These little things may not provide enough current (amps) to cause harm, but are simply a reminder to the dog not to bark.
