I bought this to charge my AGM car battery because I like bass (I didn't realize I had enough bass until my wife called it childish - yeah, me that guy ). Using my amplifier at high volume can drain the battery and overload the generator. I bought this particular make/model after doing my homework. This thing is PERFECT (a term I don't use casually) for a charger. First of all, the packaging is amazing - almost over the top! How often do you see that these days? Practical heavy tin box for storage. Love LOVE the battery and grounding adapter. Always attach the adapter to the chassis positive and ground (do not ground it from the battery, this could cause a fire - just follow the negative lead from the battery to where it is bolted to your car) . Attach the negative eye there and you are ready to charge. I used some zip ties to keep the excess wiring from moving around - now I just park the car in the garage, turn off the engine, pop the hood and plug the battery tender straight into the adapter. I can sleep soundly knowing this thing is sure to charge my battery. The next morning it's solid green (indicating full charge) and I just unplug it from the adapter in the car, put the rubber cap back on the adapter (a nice touch btw) and plug it in between the battery. and the rectangle that encloses it (ymmv). The adapter fits securely and works great the next time I need a charge after driving past you and the bass is booming so loud it's rattling through YOUR windows (please). I appreciate that it comes with a set of alligator clips that you can use instead of bolting it to your car if that's easier for you or if you're charging someone else's battery. This is protection from idiots, works as promised, safe and efficient. If you need a charger, buy one - you won't be disappointed. And for those of you wondering if you need to remove the battery from your car to charge it, the answer is no. Simply connect the adapter as directed and charge while the battery is connected and the engine off. It's good to go in the morning so I can pound the bass all the way to and from work - and bugs everyone around me.
