I just installed a new battery and parked my car for a few days. I found that the battery was completely empty and fully charged. The next morning I wanted to start it and found that the battery was dead again. In frustration I searched "bimmerforums" and found several people having the same issue. They recommended replacing the fan motor resistor, which is a medium problem for you. The factory part costs over $100. A forum member posted this part number and recommended a part that is only $50. The member also posted photos and a step-by-step guide, which was very helpful. I would highly recommend this part as it definitely solved my battery drain issue. (I was so frustrated with this problem that I considered selling the car.) Remember that the stock part has two U-wires (parallel) built into the block so you can use a tool to pull out the stock part . Outside. I didn't realize it until I finally removed the part after 15 minutes of trying to get it out. I installed this part for almost a month and left my car parked with a dead battery for over a week with no problems.
