My air conditioner is working again

Item looked brand new. It was a quick install, once I replaced the part my AC worked with no issues. Will update to see how long it lasts. ***Update*** Three months and AC still works great! Thumbs up.

Cons

Worked great on my 2003 530i

I had a problem with the battery draining every night. I found an article online that said this part often causes this problem. I replaced the fan motor resistor and everything was fine for a couple of months. Strange that this part caused this problem.

Good price, fast delivery and great quality.

This is difficult to replace in my wife's 2004 E-83 X3 as it is impossible to remove panels under the passenger side of the center junk. But with a good YouTube video we made it and my wife is thrilled. This is the part that regulates cooling and temperature. I am very comfortable. Excellent quality (OEM).

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Fits and works as it should (UPDATE)

I was concerned reading the reviews on this product but so far my heater is working as it should. To be clear, I have an E36 1998 323iC. It's been in my car for four months now. Still good. If you are considering buying this resistor, get insurance. 3 year guarantee. Free replacement. No complaints here. On the E36, you have to access it from the driver's side, just above the gas pedal.

  • GOLS certified

If yours breaks, buy this part.

I'm not going to lie, this thing is pretty darn easy to install, but with some patient tools and some flexibility, you can install it and save yourself about three hundred dollars. No, it doesn't fit perfectly in an OEM case, but if you want a perfect fit, buy an OEM and wait for it to break, not to mention the additional hundreds of dollars you'll be spending on it. Most E46 owners consider this preventive maintenance. So if you have yet to do it, don't wait for your AC to turn off in the…

Great product, great price, great seller

I have a 2000 BMW 323i 4 door sedan. About 10 months ago the HVAC system started going haywire and eventually failed. I bought and installed a fan motor resistor (aka power stage unit - FSU) from one of my local big chain parts stores. The unit worked fine but didn't push the air conditioning as hard as the original part at the highest fan speeds, but I figured I'd live with that. Well 10 months later the air conditioning started acting up again and the biggest problem was that the unit kept…

BMW 5 Series (E39) Battery Discharge Problems?

I just installed a new battery and parked my car for a few days. I found that the battery was completely empty and fully charged. The next morning I wanted to start it and found that the battery was dead again. In frustration I searched "bimmerforums" and found several people having the same issue. They recommended replacing the fan motor resistor, which is a medium problem for you. The factory part costs over $100. A forum member posted this part number and recommended a part that is only $50.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Reliability
