I have just purchased a home that had a similar unit installed only to find it was recalled due to a fire hazard. I decided to replace it with this one. The previous one shared the circuit with the AC mains, but I refused to follow the rules and was given a special 2-pole 15A breaker. I've also heard it's useful to isolate this when I'm using a generator backfeed panel which I have a connector for, so it made sense to use a dedicated switch. This is a custom size so I had to order the breaker online. The previous one I just connected to the neutral rail where it connects to both neutral and ground. The problem is that I couldn't position it where I could get to either side without expanding it. It would be nice to have longer wires for neutral and ground. Otherwise, I like being protected.
