This is a reliable mop. The metal bars are made of aluminum for lighter weight but with a solid construction. I'm not concerned about the structural integrity of the bar. The handle head is made of durable plastic. There is a thread mechanism that opens and closes the clamp with teeth. While it looks solid, I'm interested in the "teeth" in the plastic jaws. They are short, squat, but also a bit thin. I think that will be the vulnerable aspect. I find that it does an excellent job of securing the mop. I care about durability. Attached are photos showing various angles of the cartridge head, with a ruler for size reference. Our old rope wiper uses a metal gripping mechanism. Unfortunately, it has a wooden mast which, after many, many years of service, is no longer in the best condition. This mop will get the job done with ease. I love that it's considered commercial grade, so fingers crossed for the durability of the jaw clamp. Based on these observations, this trustworthy metal stick mop gets a rating of 4.25-4.5 stars.
