Review on Inverter Converter Charger Outlets Adapter by Tony Wylie

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A simple car inverter that does what it is supposed to do.

I was a bit skeptical when I opened the box with this 300W BYGD car inverter as the alignment of the USB connectors was really sloppy and the connectors seemed to be damaged even at the factory (see first picture). ). It certainly doesn't fill me with confidence. However, they have enough flexibility that I can successfully connect USB cables, so I think it's good. I'm concerned that over time the flexing could cause the solder joints holding the USB connectors to the board to crack and fail. Luckily, my car has other USB ports for charging, so I don't expect to use the ones built into this inverter, if at all. like my laptop charger) and they appear to be properly placed and connected. The input cable for the inverter is a good length, it allows me to place the inverter on the seat or center console of my car during use, and it seems to be a good gauge cable and has a solid connection between the plug and socket. 12V connection in my car. So far I haven't gotten the inverter hot enough to need its fan, so I can't comment on the fan noise, but there is no internal circuit noise at medium loads like I've heard of other older inverters before. I checked the AC outputs with a meter and the output voltage is within spec (see second picture). I expect the gauge to drop a bit under load so don't be alarmed it's volts and a change of over 120. This is to be expected with many unloaded power supplies. Overall I think this inverter should meet my needs. needs. It's a good size for travel and fits nicely in my glove box when I'm not using it. Should there be any performance issues in the future due to the ports or the device itself, I will update this review.
