Review on πŸ”§ Hi-Lift Jack PP-300 Post Popper: Efficient Tool for Hassle-Free Post Removal by Marcus Block

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal for removing T posts, very durable.

I used this plugger to remove over 40 T-posts that were part of an old garden fence. Removing the old guardrail took the most time and effort, this tool quickly took care of the T-posts once they were gone. I removed these 6 foot T posts in early April when the ground was wet, they were driven 2 feet into clay soil and were there for at least 5 years. Anyway, the ground was probably too wet in places, and the foot of the jack (and the 2x4 prybar I put under it) would sometimes sink into the wet clay under load. It took me a few minutes to figure out the best way to use this tool, but after the first two T-posts everything went pretty smoothly. I was able to keep the jack roughly parallel to the T-bar (otherwise it tended to pull the strut sideways rather than up), starting with the jack handle almost at ground level or slightly elevated (I didn't have enough leverage to start the movement). the strut if the handle was initially raised too high), and by raising the frame in a few small movements (as opposed to a continuous push). The working end of the jack handle is specifically designed to hook onto the T-bar, locking the T-bar when the jack handle is up and then locking when the handle is down, so you don't have to constantly move or bring it again as soon as the column begins to rise from the ground. I didn't use the included chain hook and actually took it off the jack because the cotter pin holding it in place kept falling out. This Hi-Lift bar lifter is very durable and worth the money. I hope this tool will last a very long time. Aside from a little dirt, it still looks and runs like new after removing more than 40 T-pillars. highly recommended!
