Thin light circles of birch. Many possibilities!
The circles were very thin so to make my sign more durable I cut 2 circles in 4 pieces each and glued them onto the remaining 2 circles. This created an overlapping look for the ship and made it more durable overall, but I ended up only having 2. I also chose 2 that appeared to be deformed to be cut. They just didn't lay flat. Now they do.
