They do what a flashlight does

It seems like you can never have enough flashlights, so being able to get four at a reasonable price is pretty ideal. The bodies are metal and the zoom selector slides with some noticeable resistance, enough resistance so the thing isn't sliding around indiscriminately while you use it. It has a decent range and is able to light up a backyard pretty effectively. I do not know how it performs against street lamps as I live away from a major metropolitan area. My only real gripe with the flashlight is you have to click through the cycle of High, low, and strobe each time, which is fine for home use, but not to trail off into the tacticool, yes I mean tacticool, side of things it would present of problem as just depressing the button slightly would send it into the next cycle, making the third press a flashing mess. I would prefer the strobe be a 3 second hold, but since these flashlights were bought for the time I need a flashlight just to look at something I just have them stashed around the house in different drawers and aren't designed for that kind of use. They aren't huge, shorter than most cell phones and are a little small, those blessed with bear claws for hands will likely find these too small as they fit my dainty girlish hands quite well. They also appear to go though batteries at a decent rate, but I'm also using bulk package rayovak batteries so I can't really say if it the flashlight or the cheapo batteries.
