So far so good. It works for padding. It's a bit flimsy, I was disappointed when I first saw it, but once I put the top tablecloth on it, it works fine. It doesn't wear out and doesn't wobble. I recommend this mat if you want to protect your countertop. I bought it because my grandkids use the table for online video school. The tablecloth is always slipped. Since I had a note, the note disappeared. It also works well for them without a tablecloth.
