I live three miles off a major highway in the mountains of Wyoming. In the winter I have to plow our road with a UTV. There will invariably be several places where I get high from the snowdrift. I cannot use the UTV winch as it is used to steer the plow. I have this battery powered winch to help me get out of snowdrifts when I'm high centered. I tested this winch by setting my UTV to 10%. slope and then using a winch to lift it uphill. The included cable is 100 feet long, allowing enough slack to tow the vehicle. This winch pulled the UTV uphill with no problem. I just had to tighten the running end of the rope a little. I wasn't very excited. The winch has served its purpose. Initially, when lifted off the ground, the winch had a tendency to roll to the left, where the engine was located. But as more tension was applied to the pull cable, it straightened again. When the UTV brake was applied, the winch was able to pull the vehicle about a foot before it overloaded and stalled. Do you think this will help me with my drifting snow problem? I think so. At least it will give me a chance to rock the car out of the snow so I don't have to dig it out. I look forward to trying it out after one of our snowstorms in a few months.
