Review on πŸ’₯ Unleash Power and Precision: The Chicago Pneumatic CP717 Super Hammer by Charles Julian

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Powerful air hammer.

Killer Thing! I used the IR 122Max and thought it would hit hard, but this CP717 leaves the IRs feeling breathless. The only downside I've really encountered is that it's so strong that it can break itself. You should regularly check that everything that has threads is tight, otherwise the parts will pop out during use. Other than that, we've seen very little that it can't analyze itself. Edit 8/27/2020. I've had it for 16 months now and it's starting to wear out. I'm still happy with it, but my original comment is still correct, the thing is shaking itself apart. The pen keeps dangling in the trigger and now it sometimes sits there purring like a cat because the trigger doesn't completely shut it off. It fell apart every time my student picked it up and everything was fine! It was usually easy to put back together, but you have to keep an eye on it. Still, it hits hard. It is used several times a week in an industrial welding and repair shop, sometimes for an hour or two at a time.
