Review on πŸ’‘ (2xPCS)15 Amp 125 Volt Grounding Straight Blade Plug – Black Male Extension Cord Replacement Electrical Plugs End by Brian Pius

Good quality at a reasonable price

This type of plug can be tedious to install without some practice that only electricians normally have. I'm not an electrician, but I have installed various types of spare plugs for personal use in the past. What I love about this design is that it looks like a factory fork with a little difference in size (bigger). It has a tapered body that doesn't tend to sag when the cord is pulled like "mushroom" plugs. For those without experience, it is important to cut the conductors to the correct length to attach to the terminals while still allowing the cable jacket (the outer material that covers all three conductors) to be securely clamped with a strain relief. The right wire color on the right terminal is ABSOLUTELY IMPORTANT. Don't be afraid to start over if something isn't right. Search online for instructional videos and repair old extension cords or appliance cords with torn jackets and exposed conductors by using replacement plugs (or socket ends) and repairing them. Copper is becoming more expensive, making new cables expensive. Older extensions with mostly good sheathing can also be made better.

Pros
  • A well-crafted hinge design makes assembly quick and easy, and helps connect all wires (hot, common, and ground) correctly and securely.
Cons
  • Wrinkled
