Some skill required (and zip ties)

Bought because they are compact. Because of this, they really have no room for "traditional" features like secure cable clamps and strain relief. It takes some skill to attach the wires so they don't just get out of the way as you screw them in. Essentially, I had to tie a knot around each screw before screwing them in. Each wire has a "strain balancer" of sorts as there is a little hook to tuck in the wire leading them out from the middle. I added a strain relief to the main cable. Be careful…

Pros
  • Replace worn or broken plugs to breathe new life into power tools, appliances and extension cords
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

I hooked each wire under the notch so there's little chance of movement. The only thing that disappointed me was that there was no brass screw to indicate…

Pros
  • Made of high quality hard plastic and straight blade, original 3-pin US plug, 15A, 110-125V, for DIY use.
Cons

Good quality at a reasonable price

This type of plug can be tedious to install without some practice that only electricians normally have. I'm not an electrician, but I have installed various types of spare plugs for personal use in the past. What I love about this design is that it looks like a factory fork with a little difference in size (bigger). It has a tapered body that doesn't tend to sag when the cord is pulled like "mushroom" plugs. For those without experience, it is important to cut the conductors to the correct…

Pros
  • A well-crafted hinge design makes assembly quick and easy, and helps connect all wires (hot, common, and ground) correctly and securely.
Cons
  • Wrinkled
