Who the hell knew a wiper system had a gear? Do you know why that is? So they may charge you more because it sounds more expensive! If I had my way, I'd call it a "metal bar with two rotating bars" and probably sell it for $20. I didn't come with instructions, but you just have to compare the old to the new and it's easy. Someone posted some very helpful information in their installation review for this product. I work with cars fairly regularly so it wasn't a big problem for me. transmission.whatever.
