Honestly USB powered evaporative cooler

PROS -------- This is a true evaporative cooler, not a humidifier USB, not a proprietary charger - Provides effective personal cooling in the right environment CONS -- ----- - Comes with a USB cable but no power adapter - Fan isn't too loud, but not particularly quiet - The directional fins don't change the direction of the air much - The pump closes off before the tank is completely empty, leaving a few more ounces water remain. Ever since I moved to Las Vegas last year, I've been looking for ways to cool off without having to turn the air conditioning off too much. I tried another type of cooler that blew water vapor in front of the fan and it worked fine but was never particularly impressive and I kept looking for another option. Fast forward to another summer and I found this device and even without the reviews it seemed worth at least trying it out. I was skeptical that it would really work sufficiently. When I unboxed it, I was really impressed with the build quality of the device. It feels well put together and nothing rattles or feels particularly cheap. A micro USB cable is included, but it doesn't come with a power adapter so you'll need to provide one yourself, and the 5V/2A specs are higher than many phone chargers that most users have, so some users may need to connect an additional charger in the price of the device. Filling with water is relatively easy, but the tank does not extend completely out of the device because a pump is built into it. As a result, you may not be able to fill it with large jugs - regular water bottles will do just fine. The fan is neither too loud nor particularly quiet when switched on. This may bother some people who are looking for absolute silence, but it's not a problem for me. Pressing the "Cool" button on the top of the device will turn on the pump and start the flow of water through the filter media on the back. The filter media seems to be pretty standard on evaporative coolers and should only be cleaned occasionally when it gets too dirty. The actual cooling effect is better than other personal cooling styles I've tried. In a dry environment, the air blown out is noticeably lower than the ambient air. A climate with higher relative humidity will not have the same effect, but here in the desert it's a good option. I was overall on the edge of this device as very little information was available and the USB power delivery seems odd. . Although frankly I was impressed. It's now by my bed and I use it every night - and will continue to do so for a long time.
