If you use this inside in totally "dead air" it takes 3 to 8 if not many more strokes to ignite a soft flame and after it ignites blows 3 out of 4 tries, a jet -Flame to start, the soft flame just off. it doesn't burn at all! I turned the flame down and the lighter wouldn't light at all, then spent almost an hour resetting the flame setting to light it again! And once the air conditioner or ceiling fan turns on (even at the lowest speed) the soft flame goes out as soon as it manages to ignite, which means the jet flame can NEVER ignite because the jet flame destroys the soft REQUIRES Flame to start and burn BEFORE a Flame Jet can ignite! This is a terrible twist on the "double" soft flame / jet flame lighter, as it is ALWAYS a soft flame lighter that needs to be lit successfully and be able to hold that flame steady BEFORE it POSSIBLY TRY can ignite a jet flame, which is actually rarely lit! One thing I've found is that holding it at an angle such that the striker wheel is below either throttle setting is more likely to ignite a flame - but not by much! Conclusion: This is NOT the so called dual flame switchable soft/jet lighter you are looking for! BTW: A warranty claim just to contact the seller is useless because there is absolutely NO WAY to contact the seller that I can find! It's easy 1 year hassle free requesting money back or replacement by contacting seller when there is no way to contact seller - this is what is known as a SCAM folks!
