Review on Dremel 4485 Quick Change Collet by Christopher Cheek

I was initially disappointed that they did not fit my Milwaukee M12 rotary tool despite reading many other reviews saying they should be installed. However, I started looking at reviews from parts suppliers and was amazed at the idea of comparing the dimensions of the original collet to this replacement collet. I was about to start the return process when I noticed a problem - although they turned out to be longer than the original, upon further inspection of the tool shank I could see something underneath which would prevent the new collet from being fully fitted. After a little tapping and light drilling, I finally removed the small piece that previously made up the bottom 1/5 of the original collet. A pretty big slap on the forehead, of course! After I removed the fragments the new collet fitted perfectly and my 1/8" bits fit exactly as they should. Very happy with the price, fit and so far the durability of these collets. Money well spent!
