While probably a good product when originally conceived, replacing metal with plastic throughout made it too cheap. The "hard" plastic case is fragile and two different ones broke during shipping. Both were packaged incorrectly, but in both cases the plastic was unfit for use. It was too harsh, which probably saved them 10 cents in production, but definitely didn't last long. Don't expect to leave the set in there for very long as it will self-destruct. The sharpeners themselves looked normal, but here the metal has been replaced with plastic, and the metal rod in the plastic case was very loose. . The whole idea is to hold the stones at an angle, but each stone was applied to the knife at a slightly different angle due to play in the bar, which negated the effect of the bar. I'm going to look at Lansky next.
