MAGIC! -- Housewares UPDATE

I got introduced to "dye magnets" years ago when I didn't have the money to sort through a lot in the laundry - often one load is enough. Since then I've been lucky enough to find boxes of "magnets" in trash cans because people didn't know how effective they were. I've shopped everywhere (being a curmudgeon) to find the best deal - I've halved mine and doubled the number of sheets I get - half a sheet works just as well as a whole one. I put one in every boot I make - whether they're all white or brightly colored. You catch more than just paint. The way detergents work is to remove dirt and stains from your clothes and put them into a solution - the dirt dissolves and floats in the water as it charges. The water rolls off, but without the Color Catcher it will settle back onto your clothes. The rinse water comes in and the dirt gets put back into the solution and settles back onto the clothes when your washing machine drains the water. Even with a large load of white laundry, you will be shocked when you see the paint trap on the underside of your washing machine. As long as your laundry comes out white, it will remain gray or brown. Even if you use cold water, you will find that the Color Catcher becomes discolored and looks cloudy. This is one of those products that you highly recommend, but people either won't believe you or can't imagine that it can work. But they do! They really do. UPDATE: I was surprised to find the Carbona version's paint trap in place. Since I used color catchers, I decided to test them sheet by sheet. I accidentally saved Flower Catchers from several downloads. When I looked at them and the last one, they were all different shades of very light green. There was nothing green in any of these uploads. However, the carbona sheet was purplish blue - the cargo contained items close to that hue. Now color catchers always seem to turn green. Suspicious.
