Review on Fasco 11081F Duo Fast Upholstery Stapler: Premium Quality and Efficient Stapling Solution by Tony Wylie

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good tool for commercial use, if not perfect

We use this tool every day in our upholstery shop. I've been using it for a little under 3 months and a billion braces. It is very powerful and very stable when shooting. Also very easy. The quick release reload mount is pretty good. The trigger safety was really awkward but luckily it broke on the second day and is much easier to use now. 1/2 star deduction for the poor design and (fortunately?) poor quality of this particular part. The rest of the weapon appears to be very well made and made of very durable materials. The stapler prefers full rows of staples - it doesn't like being burdened with a few short incomplete rows. If you upload multiple incomplete strings, some misfires will occur. It's okay, but the other pistols we have don't have this problem, so subtract another half star. There was 1 issue with the trigger blade jamming and a quick call to Fasco customer service helped me resolve the issue over the phone. I'd add 1/2 star for customer service, but we're not sure why it's stuck (no obvious reason, yes we oil the tool regularly) so it's a flush. 3 times the price of cheaper guns, I only recommend it if you can find it commercially AND only if you need to use it commercially/daily. If you only need a gun every once in a while, a cheaper gun might be a better choice.

Pros
  • Single length workshop
Cons
  • Very expensive
