I bought these so I wouldn't slip on the ice here in Minneapolis which stays on the street and parking lots all winter here. So far, so good. Yesterday my teenage son was slipping on the ice in his shoes and I was good so they must be working. These are really comfortable and supportive. I'll probable wear these in the summer hiking as well.
