The description is so well written. It is like a breakthrough product that is comfortable. After trying to break it in after more than 50 miles , I decided to throw in the towel and throw this piece of s_ _ _ away. Why ?1. The shape of the shoes made my left pinky toe hurt so much. I was hoping it would break in but I gave up. I usually wear shoes by Columbia Sports Wear. Columbia is not a luxurious brand and is rated average in my opinion but I never had problem with fit and my pinky toe and I wore out at least 5 pairs in my lifetime. Brooks is my favorite but it is expensive. Here are the Pros and ConsPros1. strong sturdy sole. It looks like it will last2. Strong fortified upper part of the shoesCons1. Definitely not light weight. It is heavy .2. Brooks used some kind of synthetic fabric. This is made from rubber and strong material that doesn’t stretch well so it doesn’t feel comfortable. It feels like I am wearing a pair of shoes made with wood or stone.3. Not 100 % waterproof. Not made with GoreTex. I wore it in San Francisco in the winter and the toes area were wet but but my feet wear not completely drench.4. Not for trail running but rather for short distance difficult climb because it is too sturdy for nimble work out but too heavy and not flexible that your feet will be tired.5. Terrible fit, made with non- flexible, stretchable material.6. See photos. After a walk of 8 miles I noticed these. The thin fabric is breaking apart on both shoes. They are like foot sores . The material is paper thin. Even though it looks durable on the outside, it is falling apart on the inside. In the end, what you pay is what you get. This is not a well known brand but something made by somebody in China. It is not Brooks, North Face, Nike, Adidas. It is not Lamborghini or Porsche or Audi. It is more like a Yugo, an AMC .Footwear is one of the most important article on your body, along with comfortable cotton underwear , etc. When you put on 50,000 steps , 100,000 steps . I reckon that I put on at least 300 miles to 500 miles or 600,000 steps to 1,000,000 steps so every step needs to be as comfortable and as effortless, as if you are not wearing any shoes. It is worth paying more for other better known, well tested brands because of the time that you will spend wearing it , 6 months to a year maybe. This shoe that I made rank at the lowest rung of my comfort ladder. Next to it was my Timberland hiking shoe. I don’t like to write this kind of review but I thought it is important for buyers to know this. I would suggest wear it inside your clean floor for a week ( so you can return it ) . Don’t test it out on a muddy rocky trail. If it is still feel comfortable , keep it.I don’t throw away shoes until they fall apart but I have to made an exception and this will end up in a landfill , unfortunately. I can’t imagine hurting my pinky toes anymore . It is not worth saving $100 in exchange for painful pinkies.
