I'm really torn. Castings and metal are very high quality, but just not processed properly. They had clearly never been sharpened, and the edges (not the cut surface) were sharp enough to cut themselves. The edges were all very sharp which made me think they just missed the deburring tank. They were mostly unfinished castings with ground/brushed top plates with wooden handles. The blades were unsharpened and not at all like knives. I work with metal and have the tools to bevel, but the metal is of such high quality that it has become a real challenge. Stainless steel is the best cast stainless steel I've ever seen, my carbide hand scraper and outdoor diamond file barely cut into it. Wd40 is absolutely necessary for diamond filing. (Lowes' Corona brand is sold as a sharpener with garden tools / Fiskars diamond file from HD also with garden tools) The wood is great too. In general, if they went through the entire production process, they would be perfect. Honestly. For $25 it's a great deal if you can tweak it a bit. If finished properly I wouldn't see any issues charging $100 for it, but the finishing work required can easily double the manufacturing cost. but the base materials are surprisingly good. So I continue my speech. I didn't buy them for meat. I bought them for the garden. I wanted to be able to hit and shred anything within range of Wolverine. Jokes aside, I wanted to make a manual version of a chaff rake, or essentially a cat's claw. Texas tone is absurd and works well to loosen up bare spots in the garden by crossing. Now that I've sharpened the blades of the knives on the claws, cleaned the blades, they are EXACTLY what I wanted. So you see I'm torn. Had they been used for their intended purpose in the form they arrived they would have been a 2 star product which I probably would have returned. but with a bit of work they make a great** addition to my arsenal of lawn weapons (I advise you to get a carving knife for the roots/edges of the flower bed. This is a hand hatchet and you will never see dog shit in yours again garden) With these puppies gleaming in the sun, I can walk across the suburban lawns and look like I'm not playing anymore. They work just like cat claws and are absolutely perfect for digging (scraping the ground in an X shape for perfect tillage/weeding (by hitting and twisting weeds). If you're thinking of buying another set or two just for a robotic project, are they really manipulators are so cool, once they're done I'm not sure they can even sell them with a knife blade on all blades because they would be quite dangerous and kids of all ages couldn't resist being hit with it.) In earnest. Buy Lawn Weapons. Your audio doesn't play, why should you?
