I was under the impression that you could press the pedal and just drop the diaper... it's not. You have to slide your hand and the diaper through the top layer and then press the pedal a couple of times to make the diaper go down. Bags are not very easy to use and expensive. Love the fact that while it does what it says on the tin and contains a scent, I'm not sure what I would have bought if I knew I had to put my hand and a dirty diaper through the hole
