I have an e-bike with tubes that are mostly square with rounded corners. I have previously used a different cage with a larger clamp but the crank length was quite large and was interfering with my lock and battery. Also, I was concerned that it would scratch the pipe if I hit it since it wasn't very tight. I didn't realize the clips were plastic with it, but it made my job easier. I used a compass to mark a piece of cardboard in the shape of a tube and then used a dremel with a coarse sanding cylinder to sand the opening down to size. The original size of the tube was small, but there was a lot of plastic to make it bigger. Now it fits perfectly and don't worry about scratching the pipe.
