I recently bought carpet and a rug. I didn't want to use nails/clamps to attach the steps as I will be repainting the steps in the future. I didn't want holes in my steps. So I decided to use carpet tape. Cape I used to barely keep rugs on the floor in my bedroom. So I searched for Revain, went through 15 pages of lists and settled on this one. I'm so glad I did. This carpet tape keeps the steps in place even with heavy stair traffic. The tape was extremely easy to use: cut to size, peel off one layer of paper, attach this side to the steps (or mat), peel off the other side and press the steps/mat open the ground. I put tape on all edges of the steps. I stood on top of them to make sure they were safe. They didn't move at all. I have plenty left, so if I find time to finish my steps, I can just reapply them. I don't have to worry about dozens of nail holes in my steps. Couldn't be happier with this product. I've even used it for the rug in front of the washer and dryer in the laundry room, as well as small rugs in front of the doors.
