Review on Lamplight Replacement Oil Lamp Chimney by Erin Renee

Think "very, very thin ".

Great idea! Offering replacement bulbs for oil lamps seemed like a wonderful thing. The problem is that this particular replacement didn't even make it to the bulb. When I unpacked the package I found that there was a code label on the glass that could not be removed except by piercing it with a sharp knife. Why do companies put these labels on products that cannot be removed? When most of the glue was gone I put the ball under hot water and applied some soap and a sanding sponge. It was obvious that the globe was a lot thinner than its predecessor, think a thin plate on a diet (it wasn't as thick as a plate) and all I had to do to break it was snap it in between Hold thumb and forefinger on one side. hand, with the other applying a sponge. The thought just exploded in my grip. Honestly, I don't think it would have survived normal use. Simply removing it from the lamp to light it could have had just as bad results. This thing is just too thin to be more than an observation object. The idea of offering a replacement oil lamp bulb is a really great idea and I'm hoping to find a company that offers glass that isn't that flimsy and breakable. Good luck to you, too!
