Review on πŸ”§ Dorman 42038 Brake Master Cylinder Cap for Acura/Honda Models: Compatible and Reliable by Johnathan Stoner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The cap looks the same as the OEM but is a little tight

The cap looks the same as the OEM but is a little tight. It took me more trouble to snap it into place than I would have liked. The tank is plastic, as is the lid, so it doesn't need to be removed/broken often. It has already become easier to fix when using it. The picture of the cover on the master cylinder is new. The old one was leaking inside, which is why the brake light stayed on. The photo of the original cover shows that the stem has darkened due to the old brake fluid. I replaced the old brake fluid and removed most of the dirt that had settled at the bottom of the reservoir. I also replaced the screen/filter for the master cylinder. It was very dirty. I could probably have it cleaned, but it was only about $10 including shipping. Master Cylinder Reservoir Filter Part Number: 46666-S04-J02. The car is a 2001 Honda CR-V.
