Their signature grooves make sense. The product is stiff enough not to slip at high speed but flexible enough not to break. I'm not exactly sure what this stuff is, but it's spot on. I will be looking for a similar kit for the back of my Dual. The reason I bought them is because I added fender flares and my bolt-on WeatherTech front guards no longer fit. They are versatile and must be carefully measured and re-measured before drilling holes in the fender. They are flexible enough to fit my Stampede fender flares. I highly recommend this product.
