This is a good all-purpose slicer and grater. Many of you reading this are replacing an existing vegetable cutter. If this is you, rest assured this will do everything you expect it to. You'll need one of these around the house as your most important kitchen utensil. It is located next to the potato masher and carrot peeler. When cooking, you need to cut the cheese. It does. Likewise, if you need to make those little carrot strips, this will get the job done. If you think you need it, then you need it. I've used it for slicing cheese, which is great for both pizza and spaghetti. It's less useful for soft cheeses, but it's perfect for things like cheddar and parmesan. Mozzarella too.
