Review on ๐Ÿ“Š Accurate Data Tracking and Versatile Control: Cateye Enduro CC-ED400 Computer by Smiley Edwards

KISS - Easy to install, easy to use, not too many bugs.

I was originally looking to get the Cateye Velo 7 Wired, but saw a review that said it wasn't suitable for mountain bikes (because I think they really mean 5mm - on bikes with front suspension). I was skeptical of these reviewer comments but settled on the Enduro based on the increased durability and claimed off-road use. Mounting it on my Trek 930 with Rock Shox front suspension was straightforward and getting 5mm of clearance was easy. The system worked immediately, without additional settings. I often use my bike to support my wife, who is an avid marathon runner (341 marathons), on her 10-20 mile training runs. I like to keep track of their mileage and mileage. My old Bontrager computer only showed mileage to a tenth of a mile, so I'm very happy with the Enduro's hundredths of a mile resolution. I also like to hop off the bike every once in a while and run or walk on it to take a sit break or just do a shorter training run (than my wife). Bontrager often didn't log miles while walking. The Enduro appears to be able to recognize even slow walking and record odometer readings. I calibrated my computer by riding the bike 10 revolutions of the tires and measuring the distance traveled. I did this several times to get a good average and then calculated the actual tire circumference in centimeters. I tested my calibration on a trail system advertised as 20.4 miles - my Cateye Enduro measured it at 20.38 miles - close enough for me. I just did 7.00 miles and marked the mile splits - at the turn I reset the computer and marked the mile splits again. I would say most of them were within 5-10 feet of each other so this unit has very good repeatability. The odometer showed 7:00 on the way there and 7:01 when I got home. Overall I am very satisfied with the Cateye Enduro so far. Very easy to use - one button operation.
