These grinders are easy to use and operate. The grinder clogs easily with large salt crystals and standard sized peppers. Often you can't clean it up to make it work again. My first pepper grinder clogged on the first day of work and was promptly replaced by the seller. The replacement worked for about 30 days and clogged again, and a few days later the salt shaker stopped working. I changed the batteries, cleaned the device (as best I could) and it still didn't work. I didn't ask for a replacement - I decided to cut my losses and move on. Can't recommend buying.
