I installed it on my 2004 Yukon Denali XL with no problems; I made sure to measure the number of open threads on the top before removing the top nut just to make sure the autoride electrical connector was properly connected without triggering a Service Ride Control message. Unlike other people, I didn't have to grind the shock's upper rubber grommet to make sure the connector was fully seated - you need to make sure the upper bumper is properly centered through the hole in the shock's upper bracket so that the white Guide ring goes all the way through the hole. Then make sure to twist and firmly push the shock's upper rubber bushing, then loosen the upper nut until it stops spinning (don't over-tighten). though!) -- I found that the point at which I could no longer turn the top nut was pretty much the same amount of thread that was sticking out before removing the old shock, so this suggestion is a pretty rough one, but worthy rule of thumb .to avoid the possible plug not fully inserted.
