Used for model building. I have been using Weecher for many years. It was light as a pencil but kept breaking. I would disassemble it, re-solder or re-solder, bypass the switch, etc. As a result, he died. This is the best replacement I could find. I used it for about 10 hours. It's solid and reliable, very well made, professional quality and sealed to keep dust out. The transformer is like a brick, but that's good because it stays in place, doesn't slip. The spiral cable is long enough and doesn't get in the way. The drill is well balanced and weighs about the same as a small sickle wrench with a weight in the center, but is a bit heavy. That's long too. Compare with this 5 inch action figure. You can't "squeeze" the nose due to the weight of the tail, but maybe that's for the best. I kind of put it on my (big) hand and work lightly. I'm not sure if a woman could use it for long or safely. The hand chuck is a marvel, quick and easy and will hold any Dremel bit. He is calm. Expensive but will probably outlive me. You turn it on by turning the drill. The minimum speed is pretty damn fast, so that's good. The dial is safer as you're less likely to bump into it when changing ammo. Comes with some bits (a subset of what's in the picture) and lots of ammo, plus a cool green case you'll probably never use... Weechers are too weak and Dremels are too big and bulky for models , so Proxxon appears as its only outlet, HD sells a "model assembly and engraving kit" that includes a drill, transformer, bits, collets, and case for $95. Please note that you need a transformer.
