Since they cannot be cleaned, I consider them unsafe to use.
Grandkids love them but I don't feel confident using them more than once. I tried the small brushes I use for my regular straws, too big. I bought pipe cleaners, I couldn't get past the 1st bend. When I pressed one of them, pipe cleaners were left behind.
