This Husky latch is much stronger than the one supplied with the trailer. This is a 2 inch latch. The instructions seem easy, but it would be nice to have more information. It doesn't say anything about putting the top of the latch over the pin/bolt (mine has it). Try first, I installed it incorrectly (no clear pattern or direction. It didn't snap on the ball. I eventually figured out how the placement went. Next problem, the spring, I had to use a spike to fix the Compress spring to be able to manipulate the ball lock above this rod voila everything works just make sure to tighten the bolt enough to avoid kickback when pulling/pushing the trailer.
