nowhere says to use this repair kit only with Husky designed clutches! This is the first line in the manual! Of course, my hitch isn't a Husky and this repair kit won't rub on a ball joint. Pure waste of money and time! I'm still using the old block. Garbage!

The hitch on my 5x8 trailer broke and came to this guy. I put it on and worked like a champ. Loosen the bolt, connect it to the hitch, and then tighten the bolt until the hitch has almost no play. Engage/disengage the clutch while tightening the bolt.

This clutch repair kit is as advertised and looks exactly like the picture. It fits perfectly on my 2004 5x8 hitch and installs in minutes. Customization was easy. The instructions that came with it were simple and well illustrated. Highly recommended. UPDATE: 3 years later it still works perfectly and looks like new.

This Husky latch is much stronger than the one supplied with the trailer. This is a 2 inch latch. The instructions seem easy, but it would be nice to have more information. It doesn't say anything about putting the top of the latch over the pin/bolt (mine has it). Try first, I installed it incorrectly (no clear pattern or direction. It didn't snap on the ball. This repair kit contains all the replacement parts for the clutch. It takes about two minutes to remove old parts and install replacement parts, and no tools are required. It will take a few more minutes to properly adjust the gap of the ball. The instructions are clear and maybe even unnecessary. However, if the clutch housing or its riveted pivot is damaged, this kit will not help and you will have to replace the entire clutch.

Yes this is great but IT WILL NOT FIT A 2" BALL. I recently broke this piece on my 5x8 foot platform. I had no idea how to fix this. I knew I could go to Wally World and get a whole hitch, but mine is welded to a trailer (it happened). I found this part on the RV forum and bought it here. The quality is BETTER than what I had. The item was assembled in about 5 minutes. If yours is broken or JUST VERY OLD, replace it with this one!

Purchased to replace a hitch on a trailer that was used to haul hay bales around my farm during my harvest. I've never replaced any of these things, but it wasn't too difficult. Like many products, this one didn't have many installation instructions. I wasn't even sure if this item would fit to replace the broken one when I ordered it. This product seems to be more versatile if you have the right ball size on your hitch.
