I like Rainbow Research henna but the last one I used was mahogany and it seemed quite dark for what I was looking for. I have medium brown hair and it really darkened it even though I had a lot of red highlights. At this time; I did however buy red henna and it lightened the brown and gave me more red. Henna is a messy way to dye your hair but I love that it's natural, actually good for your hair and not that silly, signature thing Leaves "streaks" on your hair like chemical hair dyes do as it naturally fades. . If you have never used henna before I would recommend it. Just be aware that applying it is messy and has a very distinctive smell - very earthy, like freshly applied mulch. Considering it's a plant, the smell makes sense. That's really the only negative - the smell and the mess. The color is great if you are looking for any shade of red. Oh, and understand that you can't henna dark brown hair strawberry blonde!
