It's a shame that more detailed instructions are included

I was really confused during installation. The instructions didn't help much, but then again I'm a bit slow-witted so I hope this helps you. When assembling a door, it is helpful to assemble the hinge to the door first and then the frame. At this point there should be no tension and no use of a pen. If using it on an existing door, be careful and DO NOT screw it in hastily or ruin the threads on the door. I used the same screws as my last hinge just in case the door hinges aren't standard or something. Probably yes, but I don't care. Second, once the door and frame are bolted together, take the Allen key and pin from the room. When screwing a door hinge to a door frame, it helps to have a friend or family member support the door. Due to my lack of common sense and strong, stubborn independence, my rug and door frame sagged and almost broke the frame. Once in the room, close the door tightly. Use the Allen key to turn the hinge towards the door, using one slot at a time until you get the right tension. For heavier doors (if you've hung something) you'll probably need a 4th slot, like I did. This only worked on one hinge, but I wanted the door to slam like the inner rebel that I am, so I used it on both hinges.

Pros
  • Door fittings and locks
Cons
  • No power
